                                                            LOFT Chapbooks

SPRING OPEN Submission period: April 1- June 15, 2014

The Poetry Loft is seeking submissions for chapbook length collections (up to 20 pages) of original poetry, fiction, nonfiction (lyric essays), and one act plays.

We're drawn to craft that embodies the memorable, vivid, and musical; work that conveys insights into the human experience, and the willingness to take risks.

Selected manuscripts will receive publication and distribution to libraries and bookstores. A chapbook launch reading
will be offered if travel is feasible. The author receives 25 chapbooks. Samples of work will be posted online.

GUIDELINES:

Attach up to 20 pages of your work in one file to:
info@thepoetryloft.org

Include a brief bio and a separate cover page with title, name, address, phone, and email.

Write "LOFT Chapbook/(Your Last Name)" in the subject line.

Simultaneous submissions are fine but please notify us promptly if you get accepted elsewhere.

For poetry: Individual poems may have been previously published, but work as a whole must not be published.
Include an acknowledgement page.

Response: Email will be sent to all entrants by July 31, 2014.

To ensure integrity and diversity in the selection process, a different team of esteemed readers and guest editors
is used for each published volume.

Do not include a SASE: manuscripts are recycled at the end of each submission period.

Upon publication, rights revert back to the author.

Most volumes measure 4" x 5 1/2" although sizes may vary to accommodate the needs of a particular work.

Our volumes benefit the RI Community Food Bank. Thank you for honoring us with your submission. We look forward to reading it!
